What connects to a carburetor?
The carburetor uses fuel from the fuel tank to supply gasoline to the engine. There is typically a hose or metal tube for this, called the fuel supply line, that connects to the carburetor.
What are the two hoses on a carburetor?
The two hoses circled in red are vent/over flow hoses. Should not have any plugs in them. They basically both route between the two carbs, hanging down. Each carb has a vacuum nipple.
Which line is the fuel return line?
The vapour-return line normally runs from the fuel pump or the fuel filter to the fuel tank. This vapour-return line is connected to a special outlet in the fuel pump. Any vapour that forms in the fuel pump returns to the fuel tank through this line.
Why won’t my primer bulb fills with gas?
When the primer bulb isn’t working, it may be a problem with the bulb itself, with the fuel lines that feed fuel to the bulb or both. The same goes for fuel lines. When they’ve hardened and cracked, they let in air, which makes it impossible to draw the fuel into the carburetor properly.
Where does the fuel line come from on a go kart?
Once the pump is mounted you have three lines to hook up. The fuel line on the right is coming from the gas tank and going into the inlet on the fuel pump. The fuel line on the left is coming out of the outlet and going into the carburetor. The fuel line in the center is the pulse line that runs the fuel pump.
Can a pulse line be used in a fuel pump?
The oil will limit the fuel pumps performance and require you to open up the fuel pump to clean the oil out. The best location for the pulse line when using a stock carburetor would be from using one or our carb insulators with vacuum takeoff (20650).
When to use a fuel pump on a lawn mower?
A fuel pump is used when the gas tank is mounted lower than the carburetor and gravity cannot be relied on to carry gas through the fuel line.
How do you install a gas carburetor pump?
Place the diaphragm spring and then the cup over the center of the pump chamber. Also insert a valve spring. Install the diaphragm, gasket and cover and attach with pump screws. Tighten the screws using a torque wrench. Attach the pump to the carburetor or mounting bracket, using the pump mounting screws.
